The snub cube is an Archimedean solid. Edge length and radius have the same unit (e.g. meter), the area has this unit squared (e.g. square meter), the volume has this unit to the power of three (e.g. cubic meter). A/V has this unit -1.
A snub cube is created by a specific truncation of a hexahedron. The snub cube and the snub dodecahedron are the only two chiral Archimedean solids. Chirality means handedness. Thus, there are essentially left-handed and right-handed versions of these solids, which are their respective mirror images. This chirality arises in the snub cube because its six squares are slanted. This breaks the mirror symmetry. Likewise, this shape is not point-symmetric. The snub cube is rotationally symmetric about several different axes.
The Tribonacci constant is a value derived from the Tribonacci sequence. The Tribonacci sequence functions analogously to the much better-known Fibonacci sequence, but in Tribonacci, the sum of the previous three numbers is calculated, while in Fibonacci, it is two. The Tribonacci constant is the only real solution to the equation
The snub cube is not found in nature, unlike other such regular bodies which occur for example in crystals. It occasionally appears in art and design because of its very complex shape for a regular solid and its chirality.
