Obelisk Calculator

Calculations at an obelisk. This is made of a square frustum, which is usually very high, and of a matching pyramid attached on top. Instead of a square frustum, the lower part can also be a cuboid and then goes straight upwards, in this case a=b.
Enter the side lengths at the base and at the transition between frustum and pyramid, as well as two of the heights. Choose the number of decimal places, then click Calculate.

Hemiunu Side length at base (a): Obelisk
9 faces, 16 edges, 9 vertices
Base: square
Joining faces: 4 isosceles trapezoids, 4 isosceles triangles
Slice plane: axial-symmetric pentagon
Side length at transition (b):
Frustum height (i):
Pyramid height (j):
Obelisk height (h):
Lateral surface (L):
Surface area (A):
Volume (V):
Surface-to-volume ratio (A/V):
Round to    decimal places.

Formulas:

h=i+j
L=(a+b)(a-b)2+4i2+b4j2+b2
A=a2+L
V={i[(a2+b2)+a2b2]+b2j}3

Lengths and heights have the same unit (e.g. meter), the areas have this unit squared (e.g. square meter), the volume has this unit to the power of three (e.g. cubic meter). A/V has this unit -1.

The word obelisk comes from Greek and means something like pointed column. Obelisks are mainly known from Egyptian architecture, where the word for such structures was techen. Obelisks were considered to be the rays of the sun god Re turned to stone. The first documented obelisk was erected in Heliopolis during the sixth dynasty under Pharaoh Teti II, towards the end of the 24th century BC. Some of the ancient Egyptian obelisks came from Egypt to other countries and were re-erected there. The most famous of these is the original obelisk of Luxor, which has stood on a pedestal on the Place de la Concorde in Paris since 1836.
Obelisks are purely architectural decorative objects, since unlike columns they cannot support roofs and therefore do not fulfill any practical function.
