Correct Time Indication

Correction of an incorrect specification of the time in 24-hour format with hours, minutes and seconds. A time is incorrect if the minutes and seconds are not between 0 and 59, or the hours are not between 0 and 23. If the corrected time falls on another day, that will also be displayed. Negative values and decimal fractions such as 1.5 can also be entered.

Incorrect time : :

Corrected time : :

day(s)

Fractions are preserved only for seconds, not for minutes and hours. Negative numbers will not appear in the result. If the total time is negative, the corrected date lies one or several days in the past.

Two examples with arbitrary values: 23:100 and -5 seconds becomes 0:39 and 55 seconds one day later. 30 hours and -2400 minutes is 14:00 one day earlier, because 2400 minutes is 40 hours, 30 minus 40 is -10, therefore the calculation is 10 hours back from midnight.

Incorrect time specifications can easily occur when multiple times are added together or other calculations are performed using time data. Mathematically, such time specifications are not incorrect, they simply do not conform to the standard time format. The result of such a calculation can be entered here to convert it to the standard time format.

Here is another example, this time a bit more comprehensive and therefore perhaps of more practical relevance: A particular workday begins at 8:00 o'clock. Several tasks need to be completed that day, and their duration is recorded in minutes. The total duration of all these tasks is 453 minutes. Breaks can also be considered as tasks. The time required to switch between tasks is included in these tasks. Now, you can enter the two times, beginning and duration, as 8:453 and get 15:33 as the result. This is the time at which the work is completed. In 12-hour format, 15:33 is 3:33 p.m.
