Calculate Liters in a Round Tip
Calculator of how many liters fit in a round tip or what size the tip needs to be.
Mathematically, a round tip is a cone with a round cross-section. The size of the tip is precisely determined by specifying the diameter and height, the volume results from the square of half the diameter times a third of the height times pi, i.e. radius² x height/3 x π. The lengths must be measured inside the tip if the wall has a notable thickness.
Example: a round tip with a diameter of 13 cm and a height of 14 cm has a capacity of 0.62 liters.
Please enter any two values. This can be the diameter and height of the tip, or one of these values and the volume. The third value will be calculated.
This shape is sometimes used as a cup for water dispensers .
Pointed cup of a water dispenser, 7 centimeters in diameter, 10 centimeters high, capacity just over 0.1 liters. Actually, this shape is a rounded cone, but the difference is minimal.
For pointed objects that do not have a circular base, see regular pyramid if the base is a regular polygon, such as a square. For any base, see general pyramid.
Theoretically and ideally, a tip is of course just the point at the end of an object that becomes thinner when going along in one direction. In practice, however, you cannot deal with a single point. Therefore - and because this is a good name for such objects - the whole object is referred to here as such, which mathematically correctly is called a cone.
Here you can convert metric volume units into customary and imperial units.
