Volume in a Heart-Shaped Box

Calculator of how many milliliters, centiliters, deciliters or liters fit in a heart-shaped box.

A simple heart-shaped box is a cylinder based on a simple heart shape made of a square and two semicircles. However, most heart-shaped boxes have more complicated shapes that are difficult to calculate.

Heart-Shaped box

Example: a simple heart-shaped box with a straight side length of 10 centimeters and a height of 5 centimeters has a volume of almost 0.9 liters.

Please enter the length of the straight side (the square) and the height, each inside. The content in milliliters (ml), centiliters (cl), deciliters (dl) and in liters (l) will be calculated.

Heart-shaped box

This heart-shaped box has a straight side length of 14 centimeters and a height of 3 centimeter. Since the tip is rounded, measurements were taken from the imaginary extension of the straight tip to the beginning of the arc. The calculated volume is just over one liter.

This calculator can only provide exact values if the heart shape consists of a square and two semicircles as described above. For all other heart shapes, it can be considered an approximation. However, if the base and lid are not straight but curved, then you can estimate the average height of the heart box, but the result will probably be very inaccurate.

Disposable heart-shaped boxes, for example for chocolates, are of course often used for gifts, especially for Valentine's Day or other occasions. These are often made of cardboard. Other heart-shaped boxes are intended for long-term storage, for example for photographs or small souvenirs. These can also be made of cardboard, but this should be stronger than that of the disposable boxes. Or they are made of wood or even metal.

Here you can convert metric volume units into customary and imperial units.
