Calculates the pace from distance and time and converts pace and speed. Pace is a value that tells how much time is needed for a kilometer or mile. A high value at pace means a low speed. Please enter distance and time or one value of pace and speed.
Examples: at a walk, for 4.18 kilometers one hour, ten minutes and five seconds are needed. Then the average speed was 3.58 km/h and the pace was 16 minutes and 46 seconds per kilometer. On the other hand, if you run a world-class time of 10 seconds in the 100-meter dash, then you have a theoretical pace of one minute and 40 seconds per kilometer. Of course, you can't maintain that speed for a whole kilometer. On the other hand, such a rate would be easily possible on a bicycle.
Pace is the inverse of speed; the higher the one is, the lower the other. In running, pace is a common value that is used to determine useful training units, for example.
Pace is a common value in running sports such as hiking, jogging, walking, as well as middle-distance running and long-distance running in athletics. Pace is rarely given for short distances. It does not seem to be very common in other sports, but pace can also be determined anywhere where the speed is measured and is relevant. The interpretation of pace in other sports would of course be different than in running.
