Calculate Equal Angle after Rotation

Calculator for an angle after full rotations, so that the new and the old angle superpose. If to an angle 360° or 2π, or multiples of those, are added or subtracted, the resulting angle is equal to the original one. Thereby, a full rotation is done. Please choose, if the angles are specified in degrees, as radiant or as multiples of π. Then enter the angle and the number of rotations. The number of rotations is a positive or negative integer. The according equal angle will be calculated, also the factor, which is the ratio between new and original angle.

Example: if an angle with 127 degrees is fully rotated 3 times, the resulting equal angle has 1207 degrees, 9.5039 times as much as before.

This type of calculation is used whenever periodic rotational movements, recurring directions, or equivalent angular positions are involved, and a clear distinction between angular magnitude and direction is required.
In physics, for example, complete turnings play an important role, such as in rotational motion, oscillations, or circular motion. Angles are often accumulated over extended periods, even though the orientation repeats after each full rotation.
In engineering and technology, this principle is used for rotating components such as shafts, gears, or motors. The number of rotations is one important value, and the current angular position is another, particularly in gear ratios and speed calculations.
In computer science, for example in computer graphics or robotics, angles are also frequently calculated over many rotations. To unambiguously compare orientations or process them stably, it is necessary to identify angles that describe the same direction despite having different numerical values.
