Absolute Values to Percent

Calculator for the percentual values of numbers from a set. The sum of the given numbers refers to the total percentual value, here preset with one hundred. Please enter a space or break separated list of numbers. First, the sum of the given values is calculated. Then, for every value, a percentual value is calculated, which refers to the ratio of the total percentual value. The result will be displayed in a table.

Percent total:

Round to decimal places.

Example fills the input field with the very simple data set 1 2 3 4 5. Adding these values together results in a total amount of 15. At 100 percent, the first value corresponds to 6.67 percent of the total. 2 is, of course, twice as much, 3 corresponds to 20 percent, and 5 is finally a third of the total.

Percent means per hundred, 100 is the default percent total. This value can be changed. This allows the entered values to be extrapolated not only to one hundred but to any desired value. If you enter 1000 here, for example, you get the parts in per mille. A reference to the value 1 is also common. Other values may also be useful; for example, if only about half of the total available as input values, you can enter 50 here.

An absolute value is a number that describes a quantity. This can be concrete objects, such as apples or houses. When calculating this, you have to consider that probably not all of these objects are identical, and information about the differences is lost when counted in numbers. But they can also be physical quantities such as kilograms or meters.
Percentages are extrapolated values so that their total sum is 100. If the total quantity is less than 100, then the percentages are greater than the individual values. For a total quantity of 100, both are equal; for a larger total quantity, the percentages are smaller than the individual values.
