Calculate the Ratio of Lengths, Areas and Volumes

Calculator for the ratio of two distances, planes or capacity, one value is x times as much as the other. Please enter two values and specify the units, for areas with the prefix square, for volume with cubic. For example, if you choose square- and meter, then square meters are used. If the ratio is 0, then you should increase the number of decimal places.

Example: 10 meters are 20 times as much as 50 centimeters. 10 square meters are 2000 times as much as 50 square centimeters. 10 cubic meters are 200000 times as much as 50 cubic centimeters, this number is two hundred thousand times as much.
For each additional dimension, the previous value is multiplied by one hundred. The reason for this is as follows. The factor between meters and centimeters is 100, and this applies in every direction. Therefore, the factor between square meters and square centimeters is 100 times 100, which is 10000. One square meter has 10000 square centimeters. When we move on to cubic, there is another multiplication by one hundred, because the same factor applies to the third dimension as well.

The mathematical calculation works like this: first, the ratio between the numerical values is calculated. In this example, 10 divided by 50, which is 0.2. Let's call this a. Then, the ratio between the one-dimensional units is calculated, here meters divided by centimeters, which is 100. Now let's call this b. This ratio is then raised to the power of the dimension. Let's call the dimension c. Finally, a is multiplied by b raised to the power of c. This gives us that value A is a*b^c times value B. The ratio in the other direction is the reciprocal, so value B is 1/(a*b^c) times value A.
