Pixel ruler - Measure the Length in Pixels

A ruler with pixel indication for measuring pixel lengths in graphics. The smallest distances marked by lines on the ruler are 5 pixels wide each; the display lines are extended at intervals of 10, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 pixels. The pixel ruler has a total length of 2000 pixels. The ruler graphic can be freely downloaded, copied, and used at will.

Pixel ruler

The pixel ruler can be placed on other images using a graphics program, for example, to measure an image in sections. It is also useful as a reference scale for estimating the pixel sizes of specific areas on the monitor.

Another application is the conversion of measured pixels into a unit of length such as centimeters or inches. To convert a number of pixels into centimeters or another unit of length, you need a ruler. Place the ruler on the pixel ruler and read the length of a specific number of pixels on the ruler. The larger the measured length, the smaller the measurement error, and thus the more accurate the value for the length of one pixel and the extrapolated length will be.
For this calculation, enter the number of measured pixels and the measured length into the following calculator, along with one of the two values to which you want to extrapolate.

Number of pixels:
Measured length:
Extrapolated pixels:
Extrapolated length:

As an example, 500 pixels with a length of 15.7 centimeters were measured here. This means that one pixel is 0.031 centimeters long, and one centimeter would measure 31.8 pixels. Of course, fractions of pixels are not possible in the display on a monitor, so exactly one centimeter cannot be represented graphically in this ratio, although this is not visually noticeable. The pixels are rounded to one decimal place, and the length is rounded to three decimal places.
