Calculate Average Frequency
A simple calculator to determine how often an event occurs on average. This is calculated from the frequency of occurrence within a specific period. Many things happen irregularly or only occasionally, but still more than once. It is often interesting to know how frequently this event is then expected to occur, i.e., the average frequency of occurrence of this event.
Example: if you had 7 appointments in 5 days, one date on average was every 17 hours, 8 minutes and 34.29 seconds.
Whether the general frequency of an event corresponds to a specific frequency is, of course, not at all certain and will likely rarely be the case. The frequency of such events can change, and certain events may even cease altogether if external circumstances change. Referring to the example above, the reason for the appointments may no longer exist, or a different frequency may become necessary.
Frequency refers to the temporal frequency of an event. This term is used particularly in the study of oscillations, for example, with sound waves and electromagnetic waves. In this context, frequency represents a regular occurrence, in this case, of the same wave phase. This calculator is not concerned with that. However, frequency can be used for all recurring events. For irregular events, the frequency indicates the average occurrence.
The value can be specified in unambiguous units of time. Months and years have different lengths, therefore they must be calculated as days: 28–31 for months and 365 or 366 for years. For a larger number of years, you can multiply this value by the length of an average year, which has 365.2421875 days.
