Calculate Potential Energy
Calculator for potential energy, the energy that mass has at a height. This energy is released when the mass loses height, e.g. when a corresponding body falls down. In order to gain altitude, this energy must be expended. The formula for the calculation is Ep=m*g*h
Please enter three values to calculate the fourth. The g-acceleration is preset with the standard value. One joule (J) is equal to one newton meter (Nm) or one watt second (Ws).
Example: a 5 ton weight hanging 8 meters above the ground has a potential energy of 109 watt hours.
