Calculate Time between Date and Date

A calculator for the time interval between two dates and times of day. Please enter two dates, with or without daytimes, or just two daytimes, to calculate the difference, i.e., the time between them in unambiguous units. The time of day has to be entered in the 24-hour-notation, for example 15:00 instead of 3:00 p.m. The date is in American format, which means month / day / year. The output is displayed in multiple units, which must then be added together, or in single units, where each unit counts separately. The output in multiple units is easier to read and understand, while the output in a single unit is better suited for calculations and easier to copy.

The time interval between is together
days, hours, minutes and seconds.

These are days, or hours,

or minutes, or seconds.

Years can be a standard year with 365 days and a leap year with 366 days. Months can vary even further, with lengths of 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. Then there is the occasional switch between standard and summer time, which can add or remove an hour. Therefore, different results can occur for different years or varying months with a fixed interval between them. Generally, calculating dates manually is rather tedious, which is why calculators like these can be a great help.

The time interval between two dates is always counted as positive, even if the first time is after the second. If only two times are specified, the smaller of the two differences is given. For example, for 6:00 and 12:00, 6 hours are counted, not 18. Days are rounded to three decimal places, hours to two, minutes to one, and seconds to a whole number. The most precise value is that in seconds if no fractions of a second are entered. This value is best suited for further calculations.
