Percent More and Less Against Each Other
Calculator how much more and less percentage cancel each other out and what percentage less you get when adding and subtracting a fixed percentage. It doesn't matter whether you add first and then subtract or vice versa. Subtracting always refers to a higher value than adding, so if the same percentage is added and then subtracted, the initial value becomes less.
When a percentage value is added to a quantity, the quantity increases. The percentage value is relative to the original quantity, meaning it refers to the smaller of the two values. Conversely, when a percentage value is subtracted from a quantity, the quantity decreases. The percentage value is again relative to the original quantity, which in this case is the larger of the two values. Therefore, a percentage decrease has a greater relative impact than a percentage increase. For example, a larger percentage gain is needed to offset a loss.
The formulas for the first calculation are:
Percent more = [ Percent less / (100 - Percent less) ] * 100
Percent less = [ Percent more / (100 + Percent more) ] * 100
The formulas for the seconmd calculation are:
Percentage change = Percent± - (100 + Percent±) * Percent± / 100
End value = Ausgangswert * (100 + Percentage change) / 100
Percent± stands for Percent more and less.
